Sweet Potato Casserole with Sugar Pecan Topping

For The Casserole:

  • 3-4 cups cooked sweet potatoes (or canned yams)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup half and half
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

For The Topping:

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups chopped pecans


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mash your potatoes.
  • Mix in sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, half and half, and spices.
  • Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Mix all ingredients for your topping.
